Hokies New Coaches Bring New Feel

Virginia Tech opened Spring practice with an obvious focus on improvement on offense. Three new offensive coaches walked the turf of the Hokies indoor practice facility, but as Running backs Coach Shane Beamer explained--to the average fan the offense will be looking about the same in the early stages. The focus at this point is about fundamentals, toughness and a new mindset that will allow the Virginia Tech team to be more physical in the ACC battles to come.

Offensive Coordinator Scot Loeffler, Offensive line coach Jeff Grimes and Wr Coach Aaron Moorehead were brought in to revamp a stagnant Hokies attack. Coach Frank Beamer explains that the coaches he had were good ones, and the team won a lot of games. But the new feel and spark from the new faces might be what the team needs right now. He stressed they are new..and they do coach differently. Fair enough. There did appear to be a different vibe at practice on Wednesday.
