Film shot locally now complete, producers hopeful for movie theater release

It's been several months since filming on the movie "Wish You Well" wrapped up in Giles County.  Now the film's producers say they're inching closer to a release date.

Producer Sara Elizabeth Timmins says for the past several months they've been working on editing the film, adding music and visual effects, and fixing sound issues -- and at present the film is essentially complete.

The next step is to lock down a distribution deal, which she hopes to start negotiating within the next month.

Timmins says the goal from the beginning of "Wish You Well" has been a theatrical release.

"I hope I can stand here six months from now and tell you we met that goal," said Timmins.

She says it's hard to put a timeline on how long it will take to get a distribution deal done and ultimately get the movie in front of audiences.

"We want to make sure we're not in a hurry to just sell the film," said Timmins.  "We want to make sure we find the right home to get the largest exposure for the area, to get the largest audience, and then of course we always have our investors in mind, to make sure that it's the best deal for all those who are involved and put their time and money up front."

Based on the best selling novel by David Baldacci, "Wish You Well" stars Academy Award winner Ellen Burstyn and "Twilight" star Mackenzie Foy.  Timmins says she can't wait for everyone to see it.

"The performances are amazing, the landscape is gorgeous, and looking at the final product, it's an amazing film," said Timmins.  "If it can still get me after watching it millions of times over and over, I think everyone is going to be quite proud that they were a part of making this film happen."
