Bedford County Route 460 crash sends multiple people to hospital

Posted: Updated:
BEDFORD COUNTY, VA -

State Police and Bedford County deputies are working a crash on Route 460.

The crash is near where Route 460 and Nester Road intersect, east of Montvale, and west of Thaxton.

According to VDOT's 511Virginia.org website, both eastbound lanes are blocked as of 11 p.m., and have been since at least 9 p.m. Friday.

When our crew arrived at the scene, they found an SUV in a ditch, and another vehicle on a wrecker.

Bedford County Fire & Rescue sources told WSLS that EMTs took multiple people to Roanoke Memorial Hospital, including at least one by Lifeguard helicopter.

We're working to gather additional information.
