Around one hundred dogs and their owners were in Roanoke for a good cause Saturday morning.
The people and their pooches were participating in the first Tail Chasers 5k and dog walk.
It was held at Wasena Park in Roanoke. Money raised goes toward the Roanoke Valley SPCA.
"Fundraisers like this are very important for us to continue to provide the services and programs that we have for homeless animals as well as those in the community" said Kathy Perdue with the SPCA.
Tail Chasers is replacing the walk for the animals normally held in the fall.
