Roanoke Valley could see housing rebound in 2013

It's still very early in the season but some local experts feel the housing market will rebound in 2013.

According to the Roanoke Valley Association of Realtors we just finished the best February for home sales in six years.

Home builders are also seeing more interest from customers.

Builder Al Cooper with Cooper Homes said business is already ahead of last year and he's expecting a strong 2013.

"We've been through a number of different recessions, different levels of severity and so forth," Cooper said. "It's always a relief when things seem to pick up some and people start to buy houses again."

According to the Roanoke Valley Association of Realtors there are fewer foreclosed homes on the market than previous years, which Cooper said is driving interest in new homes.
