Pinellas Park -

A gunman who fired multiple rounds at the Runaway Bay Apartments in Pinellas Park Tuesday morning is under arrest in Yonkers, NY.

Daniel Damien Arocho Soto, 26, was targeting apartment 1103 on 88th Avenue North in Pinellas Park, police said, because his ex-girlfriend was there. Officers believed their recent break-up contributed to the incident.

When officers arrived, Soto had already left by car, according to the police report. The three adults who were in the apartment at that time, didn't report any injuries.

They identified Soto as a possible attacker and obtained a warrant for his arrest. During the investigation, officers determined he might be hiding at his relatives' place in Yonkers.

Pinellas Park Police contacted New York law enforcement and NYPD officers arrested Soto. He is awaiting extradition to Florida. Authorities charged him with attempted first degree murder.
