A Cave Spring volunteer firefighter is going on emergency calls and raising money at the same time.

People can pledge money for every call Lt. Morgan Doyle goes out on. The money raised goes towards the Roanoke Rescue Mission.

Doyle says some people are pledging 10-cents a call, other $1.00 a call.

So far this year, he's gone on 47 calls and expects that number to reach about 150 by years end.

Doyle says the fire chief and entire fire station are behind him. They says it's a way to help the community while also giving back.
