SALEM, VA -

Salem City Police are searching for a man who robbed a woman near downtown on Wednesday.

The victim told officers that she was sitting in her car in the 100 block of North Broad Street before noon, when a man walked up to her car.  As the woman rolled down her window to ask what the man wanted, she told officers the man got into her car, and told her to drive into a nearby alley.  The man then stole money from the woman and ran off.

EMTs took the woman to a hospital for treatment of injuries, and she has since been released.

The only description of the robber police released is that he was a six-foot tall white man, in his mid-to-late teens, wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans.
