A public memorial for Texas District Attorney Mike McLelland and his wife Cynthia will be held this afternoon. Officials have not said if their killings Saturday are connected to the murder of the county assistant two months ago. Their funerals are Friday.

The sentencing for the man convicted in the killing of three men lured to their deaths by a fake job posting on Craigslist will take place in Ohio this morning. A judge will consider the jury recommendation that 53-year-old Richard Beasley get the death penalty.

The action begins in Martinsville this morning. NASCAR Camping World Truck Series haulers will enter infield and unload at 11:00. Sprint Cup Series haulers will enter the speedway infield at 5:00 p.m..

Radford University's Annual Highlander Literary Festival is tonight at 8:00 in McGuffey Auditorium. Authors Nikki Giovanni, John Pipkin and George Singleton will be the featured readers.

First Lady Michelle Obama will join 30 students from around the country today to plant vegetables and herbs in the White House kitchen garden located on the south lawn. The students come from schools that have made exceptional improvements to school lunches.
