2 suspects sought in late-night homicide near St. Aug's

RALEIGH, N.C. -

Police are investigating a late-night breaking and entering, and homicide near Saint Augustine's University.

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call in the 1900 block of Milburnie Road around 12:45 a.m. Thursday. When they arrived, officers found 24-year-old Travis Ramon Lucas suffering from a gunshot wound.

Lucas was transported to WakeMed, where he late died.

Police say Lucas was shot after two suspects broke into his residence. Following the shooting, the two suspects fled the scene on foot.

The first suspect is described as a black male with a thin build who stands about 6 feet 2 inches tall. He was wearing a black hoodie, black skull cap and black pants.

The second suspect is described as a black male with a stocky, muscular build who stands about 5 feet 9 inches tall. He was wearing a white or brown skull cap and a gray jacket.
