Whether permitting, a stretch of patton street in Danville will be permanently converted from one-way to two-way traffic today. The two-way conversion will extend from Craghead Street to Ridge street, providing one lane for northbound and one lane for southbound travel. Street parking stay the same.

The funeral services for Texas District Attorney Mike McLelland and his wife Cynthia will take place today. A $200,000 reward is being offered for information leading to a conviction in their killing.

A hearing will take place in one of the fungal meningitis lawsuits this morning at 10 at Roanoke City Court. Sharon Wingate is suing Insight Imaging in Roanoke and New England Compounding Center after her husband Doug died from the fungal infection after a routine injection.

The March jobs report comes out at 8:30 this morning. Economists predict less jobs were created last month than the previous month. The unemployment rate is expected to stay the same, at 7.7%.

A Franklin County man will be among the 12 Rotary Club members across the United States honored by the White House today. They'll be recognized as champions of change for their volunteer work to improve the lives of others during the second annual Rotary Day at the White House.

Walter Hughes, a member of the Rotary Club of Rocky Mount, is helping to eradicate disease in Ghana and South Sudan through the implementation of clean water projects.

An art show to benefit the homeless opens in Lynchburg today. Artists from eight countries will have one exclusive print of their work displayed for the sci-fi/steampunk show at WarmStreets Gallery.

The Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce will host its Annual General Assembly wrap-up breakfast this morning from 7:30-9:00 at the Roanoke Holiday Inn Valley View. Business leaders will ask state legislators to discuss major policy issues affecting the business community.

A new state historical marker issued by the Virginia Department of Historic Resources will be dedicated at noon today to honor Danville native Wendell O. Scott. In 1963, Scott became the first African American to win a race in what is now called the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The ceremony will take place on Wendell Scott Drive in Danville.

Ringling Bros. Ambassadors of Laughter will be at it again today. They'll be at the Kirk Family YMCA at 1:30, then greeting passengers on the Starline Trolley from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m..
