Carroll Co. leaders want tractor trailer restrictions amid deadly I-77 pileup

CARROLL COUNTY -

Leaders in Carroll County are asking the state's transportation commissioner for help after a deadly pileup on Interstate 77 Easter Sunday.

Three people died in 17 separate crashes that police say caused a 95-car pileup on Fancy Gap Mountain.

The Board of Supervisors on Monday passed a resolution requesting that all tractor trailer traffic be restricted to the right lane on I-77 from mile marker's 1 through 8 both northbound and southbound.

The restrictions would also limit truck traffic to 55 mph along this stretch.
