DRI looking to draw more businesses downtown

Posted: Updated:
ROANOKE -

Downtown Roanoke Inc. (DRI) is taking a new approach to selling the city to future businesses.

On May 2 DRI will hold its first downtown office tour.

The goal is to give business owners and entrepreneurs a first hand look at the office space available downtown.

Tours will show off open office space in multiple spots like the Wells Fargo Tower, the BB&T building, and the Valley Bank building.

"We want to get it out there that downtown is the best place to work and invest," said Price Gutshall, the economic development coordinator with DRI. "We also expect people to kind of stir up interest and start to think of downtown as really, oh that's where I want to go work."
