A veterinarian is making a difference for the folks at Warm Hearth Village.
Julia Potter, with a Riverbluff Retriever in Radford recently donated Marley to the Blacksburg senior-living center.
Marley moved to the Showalter Center about four weeks ago.
She was a surprise for the residents and staff after the center's previous dog passed away last summer.
Administrators say she adds a major quality of life for the seniors.
"This is a lovely place and we enjoy each other, but to have that baby is wonderful. I can't imagine living without a dog, I've always had dogs, love them," explained Millie Wiggert, Showalter Center resident.
Marley lives at the nurses' station and will make rounds visiting residents in their apartments.
