TRAFFIC ALERT: Blacksburg Transit detours for Run in Remembrance

BLACKSBURG, VA -

On Saturday, April 13 the VT Memorial Run will cause BT to temporarily detour several routes.  The detour will start at the beginning of service and is expected to end by 12:15pm.  During the detour all routes will enter campus via Alumni Mall and timecheck at Squires West or East.  There will be no service to the Drillfield during the detour.  All routes will resume their normal routes at 12:15pm or when the event is completed.  Note: BT4U information will be unreliable during the detour.

  • Affected Bus Stops:
  • Route Information:
  • Closed:  All stops around the Drillfield, on West Campus, Stanger and Washington.
  • OPEN: All bus stops passed on the detoured routes will be serviced.
  • Harding Avenue / Hethwood - Timecheck at Squires East
    • Harding Avenue - No service to the Drillfield, follows remainder of route as normal.
    • Hethwood - Will enter and exit campus via Alumni Mall and timecheck at Squires East.  There will be no service to Stanger, Drillfield or West Campus during the detour.
  • Hokie Express - No Service during Detour; will begin service at conclusion of detour, beginning at Squires West.
  • Main Street - No Changes
  • Toms Creek - Timecheck at Squires East
    • Will enter campus via Prices Fork to Main Street, right onto Alumni Mall and timecheck at Squires East.
    • Will exit campus via Alumni Mall to Main Street and resume normal route.
  • Two Town Trolley - No Changes
  • UCB / Progress - Timecheck at Squires West
    • UCB - Will enter campus as normal; will exit campus via Alumni Mall to Main Street, left on Prices Fork and resume normal route.
    • Progress - Will enter campus via Prices Fork to Main Street, right on Alumni Mall and timecheck at Squires West.  Will exit campus via Alumni Mall to Main Street and resume normal route.
