Salem home crashed into by car

Posted: Updated:

Salem Police believe an accidental slip of the foot caused a car to crash into a home on Monday.

Officers say an elderly woman was leaving a car repair shop on Kessler Mill Road around 1:20 p.m., when the woman accident put her foot on the gas pedal instead of the brake.

The car went into the road, hit another car which then hit a pick-up truck, and pushed the truck into a garage.  The woman's car then partially went into the house.

Luckily, no one was hurt.

Police charged the woman with failure to maintain control.

Damage estimates are:

$20,000 to the house

$6,000 to the woman's car

$2,000 to the pick-up truck

$2,000 to the other car hit
