Today's planned event to rollout the 'Gang of Eight's' immigration bill has been delayed in response to the explosions in Boston. The bill will still be filed, but without fanfare, out of respect for the victims and families.

Former Representative Gabby Giffords and her husband will be on Capitol Hill today lobbying for new gun laws and will dedicate a room in honor of her staff member who died during the shooting rampage in Tucson, Arizona in 2011. The plaque honors Gabe Zimmerman who was one of six people killed that day in Tucson.

The Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation will hear testimony today on FAA safety initiatives, the consequences of sequestration cuts on the FAA and examine the status of the ongoing investigation into the Boeing 787. Members of the FAA and NTSB will testify.

Lt. Governor Bill Bolling will lead the Virginia Tech Day of Remembrance ceremony at the Capitol Square Bell Tower this morning. It's taking place at 9:30 followed by a state wide moment of silence at 9:43.

Vinton Town Council will meet tonight and consider adopting an extraterritorial arrest agreement between the town, Roanoke County, Roanoke City and the City of Salem. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m..

VDOT will hold a design public hearing on a proposed project on Route 29 south over Norfolk Southern Railroad in Pittsylvania County. The meeting is from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the agency's Chatham office.

Students at Rich Acres Elementary in Martinsville will take part in a Lego building activity as a way to spark creativity. The build will take place tonight from 6:00-7:00 at Rich Acres.
