12 jurors seated in Mario McNeill trial, alternate selections begin Wed.

All 12 jurors have been seated in the trial of a man charged with raping and killing a 5-year-old Fayetteville girl.

Mario McNeill, 32, is charged with raping and killing Shaniya Davis in November 2009. He could face the death sentence if convicted of murder.

On Tuesday, seating of the 12 jurors completed and the selecting of alternates was scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The 12 principle jurors are comprised of eight women and four men.

Shaniya's mother also is charged, accused of selling her daughter to pay a drug debt. Antoinette Davis hasn't been tried yet.
