PULASKI COUNTY, VA -

The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office says a man survived, after jumping from a burning pick-up truck that crashed into a house Tuesday morning.

According to Captain J.B. Saunders, the sheriff's office received a call at 10:00 a.m. on April 16th, for a vehicle that crashed into a house on McGlothlin Lane in Dublin.

When deputies arrived, they found a 1993 Dodge pick-up truck had run into an empty old apartment building, and caught the building on fire.

The truck's driver, Richard Kent, of Dublin, told investigators he had been driving on Highland Road when his truck caught fire.  Ken said he tried to pull off the road, but lost control.  The truck went down into a yard, Kent jumped out, and the truck hit the empty apartment building.

Kent was not seriously hurt.

Deputies charged Kent with reckless driving.

Firefighters from Dublin, Twin Community, and Newbern helped put out the fires.
