Crews called off a search Saturday night after a boat was found floating in the James River.
We're told emergency crews from Big Island and Bedford County searched the James River in Amherst County for more than two hours.
A call came in around 6 p.m. about a canoe floating in the middle of the river, with no one around.
Crews used boats to search for a possible drowning victim, but no one was found.
They had to call off the search when it got dark.
Crews may be back Sunday morning.
