Driver charged with DUI after hitting light pole on Wade Ave.

RALEIGH, N.C. -

Raleigh Police have charged a driver with DUI after hitting a light pole on Wade Ave. early Tuesday morning.

Authorities say the driver lost control of the vehicle around 4 a.m. before hitting the light pole near the intersection of Wade Ave. and Faircloth Street.

Progress Energy is working to repair the downed power lines cause by the accident.

The driver has been charged with DUI. The name of the driver has not been released at this time.
