Dudley man faces robbery, kidnapping charges

SEVEN SPRINGS, N.C. -

A Dudley man is facing second degree kidnapping charges after trying to rob a man at gunpoint.

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office has charged Casey Maddox with robbery with a dangerous weapon and second degree kidnapping after authorities say he tried to rob Fernando Salinas on U.S. Highway 111 South in Seven Springs.

Salinas told authorities he was working at a turkey warm when he was approached by Maddox with a hand gun.

Maddox demanded money from Salinas. Salinas told deputies when he tried to give the suspect the money, Maddox demand money from the victim's truck. When Salinas did not go to the truck, Maddox fired his gun near Salinas' feet.

Maddox was given a $185,000 secure bond.
