Police in New River Valley raid Christiansburg pawn shop

Posted: Updated:

The Montgomery County sheriff's office and Christiansburg police raided the Bargain Pawn Shop last week, police said.

Police said they charged the owners of the pawn shop with 100 alleged violations involving bad record keeping.

Police identified the owners as David Strathy and Youssef Melki.

Investigators said Bargain Pawn's methods contributed to the local drug problem, since users could sell stolen items with no fear of them being tracked.
