Construction begins on Brownstone Condos in Blacksburg

Posted: Updated:
BLACKSBURG, VA -

Construction has started on The Brownstone condominium building in downtown Blacksburg.

The project will include condos and office space, and is located on Main Street.

Steve Hill, the owner and developer, built a similar building seven years ago called, "Clay Court."

"It was sold out and leased out very quickly," said Hill. "I've never had a vacancy since it's been on the ground."

Hill said he is starting to see that success for The Brownstone, which will be located next to Clay Court. He has already sold 10 of the 20 condos and leased out some of the office space to a research firm and medical office.

"I think Blacksburg is growing and it's a great sight," said Hill.

The building is expected to be finished in about a year. Hill is also keeping the historic Annie Kay's building. It will be renovated into a business space, office or loft.
