Vinton man stabbed in Roanoke house break-in

Roanoke City Police news release

The Roanoke Police Department is investigating an aggravated assault that occurred on April. 24, 2013.

Officers responded at 3:59 a.m. to a residence in the 400 block of White Avenue.  Upon arrival officers located four adult males inside of the residence, including one with stab wounds.

The individual with stab wounds was transported to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.  He is identified as Joshua Eugene Andrews, age 23 of Vinton.

Through the course of the investigation officers determined that Mr. Andrews forced entry into the residence and assaulted a 67 year old male.

The other two adults were in another part of the residence when they heard noises and went to the location of the assault.

Those individuals then struggled with Mr. Andrews, and Mr. Andrews was stabbed during the struggle.

Mr. Andrews is charged with assault and burglary.  The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
