Roanoke Police search for home robbery suspect

The Roanoke Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred April 23, 2013.

Officers responded at 8:36 p.m. to a residence on Angell Avenue.  Upon arrival they located the victim, an 86 year old male.

He stated that another male came to the residence earlier in the day (April 23) asking for money.  The victim stated that he was familiar with the suspect, and the suspect made repairs at his residence in the past.

The victim stated that he gave the suspect money and the suspect left.  The victim stated that the suspect later returned to the residence asking for more money.

When the victim refused to give the suspect more money, the suspect forced entry into the residence and took the victim's wallet.  The suspect did not display a weapon and fled on foot after taking an undisclosed amount of money from the victim's wallet.

The suspect is described as a tall white male with a thin build and a goatee beard.  He was wearing blue jeans and a burgundy jacket.
