Local cops get hands on training with their canine partners

RALEIGH, N.C. -

From suspect searches to suspicious packages, K-9 units have certainly shines in the news as of late.

Local police departments received some hands-on training with their dogs at Wake Tech Wednesday morning.

Kevin Beck, president of Wilmington-based Enforcement K9, Inc, led the training as Enforcement K9 prepared police K-9 teams to safely and effectively handle various high-risk situations they may encounter.

Burlington, Cary, Clayton, Garner, Holly Springs, Knightdale, Pitt, Raleigh, Wilson and Winston-Salem Police Departments attended the two-day training, which included classroom instruction as well as off-site, hands-on, practical scenarios.
