HAVELOCK, N.C. -

A toddler rescued from a house fire in Havelock on Tuesday is recovering at the hospital, WITN is reporting.

The child, Dillion Burkett, was napping in a home on East Main Street in Havelock when the fire broke out around noon.

Relatives told WITN a family of six lived in the house. A father and two children were home at the time.

Relatives said the father managed to get 4-year-old William Burkett out, but two-year-old Dillon Burkett was still inside.

Havelock firefighter Charles Winter said, "There was someone inside trapped, a baby. So I went inside and they told me where they thought the baby was so I went into that window...couldn't find the baby." Winter told WITN, "I came back out the window and they told me they could hear crying from a separate window and eventually I found the baby in the second bedroom I went into."

The family has three boys, ages 5, 3, 2, and a 5-month-old daughter.

The home is a complete loss and authorities did not say what started the fire.
