Jamie Hahn remembered at church, dinner

RALEIGH, N.C. -

A North Carolina political strategist who died this week after being stabbed in her home will be remembered by family, friends and political allies at a church service and a Democratic Party dinner.

A memorial service was scheduled Saturday at a Raleigh Baptist church for Jamie Kirk Hahn, who died Wednesday. Police say the 29-year-old and her husband were stabbed Monday. Authorities charged the best man at the couple's wedding in the assault. Suspect Jonathan Broyhill has been hospitalized.

Police haven't given a motive. Former U.S. Rep. Brad Miller says there are questionable campaign reports Broyhill made while working for his campaign through Hahn's consulting firm.

Miller, U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan and others were expected to pay tribute to Hahn as hundreds attend Saturday night's Democratic Jefferson-Jackson Dinner in Raleigh.
