A Sampson county woman is facing charges after a car crash that killed a passenger in her car shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday.

Stephanie Davis, 30, of Faison was driving west on NC 1823 of Clinton when she lost control and the car overturned in a ditch, according to the State Highway Patrol.

A passenger in her car, Sharon Brayboy, 49, of Clinton was pronounced dead at the scene. The state patrol says she was not wearing a seat belt.

Davis declined treatment at the scene.
