New Raleigh taxis promise eco-friendly service

RALEIGH, N.C. -

A new taxi company is coming to Raleigh, promising eco-friendly service and high-tech services.

Raleigh Mayor Nancy McFarlane introduced Taxi Taxi at a news conference Monday morning. Taxi Taxi features a fleet of new Toyota Prius cars. The cars will have credit card machines in the rear for passengers, and also a smartphone app that will allow riders to track the taxi coming to pick them up.

The company unveiled its new vehicles at a news conference at the Raleigh Convention Center.
