An alligator spent the morning hours snapping at passing cars near Tampa and East Lake Roads in Pinellas County.  A woman called 911 just before 6 a.m. and told authorities about the reptile being near a businesses.

She said it was outside a dentist office.  Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officer responded to the call.

The gator's walk about was put to an end when Deputy Jeffrey Crandall secured the alligator with a rope, and the FWC officer took it away to an animal facility.

Authorities say the alligator was over 10 feet long.
