Merle Haggard to play concert in Salem

SALEM, VA -

County Music legend Merle Haggard is coming to Salem this Fall.

The Salem Civic Center announced on Tuesday, that Haggard will play a concert on Sunday, October 27th, at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for the concert go on sale this coming Mondya, May 6th, at 10:00 a.m.

Haggard last played at the Salem Civic Center in May of 2003.

"The living legends of country music are few and far between and to have Merle Haggard back in Salem is great news for us and his many fans," said Carey Harveycutter, Salem's Director of Civic Facilities, in a news release.  "His popularity began to rise about the same time this Civic Center opened in 1968 and he's put on a number of great shows here over the years."
