Intentional fire set in southeast Roanoke house

ROANOKE, VA -

Roanoke Fire-EMS news release

 

On Tuesday, April 30, 2013, Roanoke Fire-EMS responded to a structure fire at 513 13th St., SE. 

The call was received in the E-911 Center at approximately 8:54pm and was under control by 9:19pm. 22 Fire-EMS personnel responded to the scene.

When crews arrived they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the second floor of a vacant house.  Crews immediately began to extinguish the blaze and check for anyone that might be trapped inside.

 There was no one in the house when the fire started.  The fire started on the second floor and was contained to the second floor. 

 The cause of the fire has been ruled as incendiary(intentionally set). 

 Damages to the building are approximately $30,000. 

 If anyone has any information regarding this fire, they are asked to call the Roanoke Fire Marshal's Office at (540)853-2795.
