3 arrested for possession of heroin

BEAUFORT, N.C. -

Three men are accused of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Tuesday, deputies arrested and charged 31-year-old Larry Earl Springle, Jr. of Beaufort, 23-year-old Daniel Keith Lester of Beaufort, and 19-year-old Josephy John Behan of Atlantic for Possession With Intent to Sell and Deliver Schedule I (Heroin) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The Carteret County Sheriff's Office said detectives conducted a traffic stop on Highway 101 near the Core Creek Bridge and found 20 bags of heroin and needles in a vehicle occupied by all three of the men.

They were placed in the Carteret County Jail under the following secured bonds; Lester, $75,000  secured bond, Springle, $3,500 secured bond, and Behan, $1,500 secured bond.
