Downtown Roanoke gets first bike corral

Posted: Updated:

Bicycle riders can now worry less about finding a place to park in Downtown Roanoke.

The transportation Division installed the city's first bike corral.

It's at the intersection of Market Street and Campbell Avenue.

Riders say it's a great way for Roanoke to continue efforts to be more bike--friendly.

"it's definitely a positive thing in the community to get people biking and gives them a great place to park it so they can enjoy all the sights downtown," bike rider Nic Minyard says.

The bike space didn't remove any on-street parking or sidewalk space in the area.
