Five Lord Botetourt Baseball Players Careers will Continue

Posted: Updated:

The two time defending Blue Ridge District Champion Lord Botetourt baseball team is having a solid season. The Cavs stand at 12-3 overall,  4-2 in the District.  They are just one game back of the Blue Ridge District lead.  They hold the only district win over Alleghany.

And it is easy to see why they are having all this success, with five players on that squad moving on to play baseball in the college ranks. Will Cline and Conner Bronson are headed to UVA Wise.  Austin Arthur will play next year at Bridgewater, while Brian Ward heads to  Eastern Mennonite and Ashby Humbert will get his diamond action at  Bluefield College.

It's a special group of seniors on the diamonds in Daleville, and nine-year head coach Todd Smith says this collection of players has put in the work to make all the success happen. He admits its unusual to have this many headed to college ball but calls them a special group. And they aren't finished achieving in Cavalier uniforms just yet.
