Person found dead in Pittsylvania County fire

PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA -

The Pittsylvania County Fire Marshal's Office says a person was found dead, following a mobile home fire on Friday afternoon.

The call about the fire came in at 1:53 p.m.  Fire crews rushed to 100 Carriage Hill Circle from the Mt. Hermon, Tunstall, Mount Cross, Bachelors Hall, Brosville, and Danville Fire Departments.

After the fire was put out, investigators found one person dead in the mobile home.  The body has been sent to the Medical Examiner's Office in Roanoke fore an autopsy.

The Fire Marshal's Office believes the fire started in the living room, and foul play is not suspected.

The investigation is ongoing.
