ST. PETERSBURG, FL (WFLA) -

The video on 19-year-old Karina Mora's Facebook page shows a happy 2-year-old Ananhie Fernandez dancing with her 3-year-old sister.

Largo police say Mora and her live-in boyfriend, Joel Cruz rushed the child to All Children's Hospital early Sunday with serious injuries.  She later died.  Investigators say Cruz admitted to throwing the child into a chair and into the wall at the Largo apartment complex they shared. He faces first degree murder and aggravated child abuse charges, and there is a pending charge from California.

Mora was estranged from her daughters' father, 19-year-old Carlos Fernandez. Fernandez and his family members were at the Pinellas Criminal Justice Center Monday to attend Cruz's first appearance before a judge. The judge ordered him held in jail without bond.

"We just want justice to be done for what was done to her.  She was sweet as gold, there was nothing a 2-year-old could do to someone to hurt her the way she was hurt," said Alyssa Zeiders, victim's relative.

Neighbors created a small memorial in front of the apartment where Ananhie lived with her 3-year-old sister, mother, and Cruz.

"CASA" is a place where women can turn if they are in a domestic violence situation and feel there is no way out.  Its executive director says a phone call can a big difference.

"If we can get them connected to somebody who's says "I care", somebody who says there's something going on here that's not your fault," said Linda Osmundson. "That there's something that you can do."

She suggest keeping the program's hotline number handy.  It is 800-500-1119.

The other child in the Mora home was placed in foster care while the Department of Children and Families investigates.
