Hundreds walked Sunday in Salem for babies born too soon.
More than 500 people came out to the Salem Civic Center this afternoon for the annual 5K and Family Fun Walk supporting the Roanoke Valley March of Dimes.
"March for Babies" is a nationwide event helping raise money for research, helping moms in our community have healthy, full-term babies.
"I remember when I was quite young doing the ten mile march with my brothers and sisters for the March of Dimes. I didn't realize what the impact would be on my particular family as well," said Tina Cannon, event organizer.
More than $65,000 has been raised so far their end of year goal is $100,000.
