Florida gas prices down, nation-wide up

Posted: Updated:

Florida prices on gas have gone down in the past week, falling by 1 cent and averaging $3.41 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.com.

The website that tracks gasoline prices reported that the national average price increased by one penny per gallon last week. It averaged $3.51 a gallon.

"The national average has begun to tip-toe higher in the last week, led by states in the Great Lakes and West Coast where gasoline prices have crept up considerably in some areas over the last week," said Patrick DeHaan with GasBuddy.com.

DeHaan said he expected the gas prices to climb up the next few weeks because the oil prices have rebounded. He warned the biggest increases would be along the West Coast where gasoline supply remains at an ultra-tight status.
