Raleigh driver killed in accident on 264

RALEIGH, N.C. -

A Raleigh man was killed in an accident on U.S. 264 West Monday after the driver crossed the center lane and collided into an on-coming tractor trailer.

Chauncy Adrian Freeman, who was driving a 2009 Hyundai, was traveling east on U.S. 264 when he crossed the center lane and collided into a tractor trailer going west.

Freeman, 60, of Raleigh, died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.

The accident caused extensive delays for motorists, and the westbound lanes were closed Monday afternoon.

The driver of the tractor trailer, Ronnie Taylor, 56, of Fountain, N.C., sustained minor injuries. Taylor's truck also struck the tractor trailer of Salim Otajagic, 36, of St. Louis, who sustained minor injuries.
