Voters are exactly six months away from electing a new governor and now the campaign trail is beginning to heat up.
Gubernatorial candidates Ken Cuccinelli (R) and Terry McAuliffe (D) are both making stops in Southwest Virginia pitching voters on their vision for Virginia's economy.
Cuccinelli spoke Monday to a group of supporters at Roanoke Cement in Botetourt County.
He believes his message will resonate with independent voters.
"Pro-growth policies, balanced regulatory environment is going to be about right in the sweet spot for those kinds of voters," he said.
On Tuesday McAuliffe will be campaigning at the Wallace Agency in Roanoke discussing his economic plan.
Cuccinelli will be releasing his tax plan in Richmond.
