Sunday's race at Talladega marked the brief return of the commonwealth kid.  Denny Hamlin started the Aaron's 499 with that injured back and made the driver swap at the first caution with replacement driver Brian Vickers.

Vickers day didn't last long.  He got caught up in the first big wreck of the race that was caused by Kyle Busch turning Kasey Kahne at the front of the pack. That decision took out a large portion of the field.

Fast-forward to just under 70 laps  to go when Carl Edwards takes the lead and the race gets red flagged for rain. But they would get track dry and they would finish this thing at sunset.  And it's a good thing because Cinderella had to be home before midnight.

David Ragan had his glass slipper on the gas pedal. He shoots up the middle on the final lap and drives that magic pumpkin to victory lane.

here is a look at the standings after Talladega--Jimmie Johnson is still out front. He's got a 41 point lead on Carl Edwards with Dale Jr up one spot to third.  Check out Aric Almirola!  He scores yet another top 10 finish that vaults him to 7th in the standings. Kyle Busch falls to ninth and Greg Biffle rounds our your top 10.

Next week the series tackles the lady in black. That's right--Darlington on Mother's Day weekend.
