UPDATE: Roanoke Police name man killed in northwest shooting

ROANOKE, VA -

4:55 p.m. Wednesday

Roanoke City Police just released the name of the man killed in the shooting Tuesday night.

Officers say Wilson Lenin Abarca-Mejia, age 30 of Roanoke, was shot and killed, and found lying in the road on Abbott Street NW.

Investigators did not release the name of the second man who was shot, but survived.

Police are searching for two suspects in the shooting.  One is a young man, but police did not release a specific description.  Officers did not say if the second suspect is a man or a woman.

6:20 a.m. Wednesday

The shooting happened just after 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 1400 block of Abbott Street.

Police say two men were shot.  One man who was found lying in the road, was killed.  The other was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

The names of the shooting victims have not been released.
