Roanoke Police and local churches are working together to help increase community involvement in the Melrose Drug Market Initiative, also known as DMI.

Lt. Rick Morrison, zone four commander for DMI, met with about a dozen pastors today at Straight Street.

Morrison said they are looking at various ways faith based groups can connect with the DMI community, such as walks and events in that area.

Any church interested in participating can call Straight Street, (540) 342-4971.
