ROANOKE, VA -

Thousands of people are expected Saturday for the annual Airlee Court area wide yard sale day.

100 yard sales are expected in the 24 block area of Roanoke City along Hershberger Road from Walgreens Pharamacy to Florist Road.

Area families sell all sorts of things and the neighborhood watch takes donations for projects like an annual cookout with police and fire crews and an area newsletter.

"It really does tighten up the neighborhood. You get to know everybody, everybody's out on the street and it's just a good family get together" said Ben Burch, the president of the Airlee Court neighborhood watch association.

The yard sales are rain or shine from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
