The man arrested in connection with an IED bomb blast in Blacksburg from August of 2012, has agreed to a plea deal with federal prosecutors.

Derick Gregory Wilson pleaded guilty to possession of a destructive device in Roanoke U.S. District Court on Friday.  The plea deal calls for a sentence recommendation of three years and four months in prison.

Investigators say Wilson planted and detonated a pipe bomb on an SUV parked on Harrell Street, a few blocks away from the Virginia Tech campus, that belonged to a man who had moved in with Wilson's girlfriend.
