Gibbs Dominates Darlington in NASCAR Teardown

Posted: Updated:

This past weekend was a huge weekend for Joe Gibbs Racing.  Not only did they have Denny Hamlin back in the car for a full race, but the 20 team has a lot to prove as well.  Fresh off of their appeal win with a replacement crew chief on the box,  Matt Kenseth passed Kyle Busch late in the race to capture his First Southern 500 win and 3rd win of the year.

Denny Hamlin also had a solid day,  The Joe Gibbs racing driver finished second to his team mate in his first full race back in that car since he suffered fractured vertebrae in his back.

Surveying the points situation Jimmie Johnson is still leading the pack by 44 points over Carl Edwards. Kenseth's win vaults him to 3rd. Kyle Busch moves up two spots to 8th and Kevin Harvick moves up two spots and cracks the top 10.

Next weekend Nascar goes home to Charlotte for All-Star Weekend and you better believe it will be checkers or wreckers as the best in business race for a shot at $1-million dollars.
