DOWNTOWN ROANOKE -

A Downtown Roanoke restaurant received national recognition on Tuesday for its customer service.

The website OpenTable.com listed Alexander's among its Top 100 Diners' Choice list for service in the U.S.

The rankings come from more than five million customer reviews of more than 15,000 restaurants across the country.

OpenTable says Alexander's was the only restaurant in Western Virginia, and one of only four restaurants in the Commonwealth to be named to the list.

"We are very pleased by this acknowledgment from OpenTable diners and to be included among the most legendary restaurants in the country," said Bridget Meagher, owner of Alexander's, in a news release.  "It's wonderful to know that these diners who visited Roanoke from all over the U.S. thoroughly enjoyed their overall experience and gave us such high marks."

"Superior service is the cornerstone of fine dining," said Caroline Potter, OpenTable chief dining officer in the release.  "The honorees at these winning restaurants are taking hospitality to another level, and diners are taking note, rewarding their efforts with rave reviews and return visits."
